Yıldız Holding Publishes 5th Sustainability Report

Having updated its sustainability strategy within the framework of “This is Our World,” Yıldız Holding has published the 5th edition of its sustainability report, featuring its environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance and the good practices of its companies.
The report addresses the sustainability performance of Adapazarı Şeker, Bizim Toptan, Kerevitaş, ŞOK Marketler, Ülker Bisküvi in 2021, and the good practices adopted by pladis and GODIVA.
Reflecting the sustainability practices and performances of Yıldız Holding companies, the “Sustainability Report” has been published. The Holding’s 5th Sustainability Report features its latest sustainability strategy framework and goals in addition to environmental, social, and governance performances and good practices of its companies. The report, also featuring the Holding’s progress concerning the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) and Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs), covers the sustainability efforts and good practices implemented throughout 2021 by its companies Adapazarı Şeker, Bizim Toptan, GODIVA, Kerevitaş, pladis, ŞOK Marketler, and Ülker Bisküvi.
Committed to the principle of “Waste-Free Company” since its foundation, Yıldız Holding aims to create long-term, sustainable value in collaboration with all its stakeholders, focusing on the food and retail industries with its “This is Our World” approach. Having collected its sustainability strategy under the topics of “Working for the Future of the Environment,” “Growing Stronger with Stakeholders,” and “Inspiring with Purpose-Led Products,” Yıldız Holding strives to contribute to the United National Sustainable Development Goals through its efforts in these focus areas.

Commenting on the report, Yıldız Holding Vice Chair and CEO Mehmet Tütüncü remarked that they aim to contribute more to the development of society and building the future as they continue working for nature’s future with updated sustainability strategies and goals. Tütüncü said: “2022 Global Risks Report demonstrates that the climate crisis and environmental problems are at the top of the agenda. Beyond reducing carbon emissions, we are aware that renewing and improving resources is critically important. To this end, we adopt sustainable agriculture practices based on our “Waste-Free Company” model and continue investing in technologies increasing energy efficiency and renewable energy in all our companies. Additionally, we aim to make all our plastic packaging recyclable, reusable, or compostable by 2030 through our focus on circular economy practices.”
