Bringing exquisite Islamic artworks together for art enthusiasts every year during Ramadan, Yıldız Holding is about to welcome this year’s holy month of Ramadan with a special exhibition. Starting from the beginning of Ramadan, 145 artworks selected from the Yıldız Holding’s Collection of Islamic Artworks will be presented free of charge until the end of this year in “Talking Scripts” exhibition, which has opened its doors for visitors on April 4 in Yıldız Holding’s newly established Exhibition Hall in Çamlıca. 

Having adopted the principle of raising the quality of life in our society with culture and arts since its establishment, Yıldız Holding has brought together 145 selected artworks from its Islamic Artworks collection for the exhibition “Talking Scripts”. In the exhibition, which has opened its doors on April 4, Islamic calligraphy works of famous calligraphers such as Kadıasker Mustafa İzzet Efendi, Şefik Bey, Bakkal Arif Efendi, Hamit Aytaç, İbrahim Sükûti, Yusuf Simîn Kalem, Ref'et Efendi, Elmalılı Hamdi Yazır Efendi are presented to art enthusiasts. Art enthusiasts can visit “Talking Scripts” in the new Yıldız Holding Exhibition Hall located at the headquarters of Yıldız Holding in Çamlıca by dialing 0 216 524 25 00 for an appointment. 

Ali Ülker: “The artworks from our collection will be permanently exhibited”

Yıldız Holding Chairman Ali Ülker stated that they have carried out many art exhibitions based on the notion to bring traditional and modern artworks together with a large segment of society, and said, “Every year during Ramadan, we organize exhibitions to present exquisite traditional artworks using different themes and share numerous examples of calligraphy, hilya, ebru (water marbling), illuminated manuscripts and many more with a large audience. We sincerely believe that these valuable messages, that have been passed down over many generations and have preserved their impact for ages, are here to stay and art is one of the most effective forms to share these messages. Motivated by this point of view, I would like to pleasantly express that traditional Islamic artworks from the Yıldız Holding Art Collection will be permanently exhibited in our new exhibition hall.”

Never-before-seen works by renowned masters will also be on display

Mustafa Cemil Efe, Islamic calligraphy artist and the curator of the exhibition, stated that they also included underpublicized artworks of reputable calligraphers in the exhibition and said, “Yıldız Holding’s Collection of Islamic Artworks makes a substantial contribution to our arts and culture scene as well as our modern civilization. One of the major contributions is the organization of exhibitions which are held in Ramadan every year and have become traditional art events. ‘Talking Scripts’ is an exhibition featuring unique examples of Islamic calligraphy which opens up a multidimensional horizon on a two-dimensional medium.
