18.12.2023
Accelerating sustainability investments as part of its “Waste-Free Company” working model, Yıldız Holding adds a new one to its energy efficiency projects. Yıldız Holding affiliate Aytaç Gıda and Chint Group affiliate Astroenergy signed an agreement for a 6MWp off-grid Solar Power Plant (SPP) to be installed in Çankırı with a build-and-operate model.
Yıldız Holding Deputy Chair and CEO Mehmet Tütüncü says: “Driven by the ‘This Is Our World’ approach, we have accelerated our green transformation journey. Aiming for a collective transformation with our entire ecosystem, we support our commitments with our actions at Yıldız Holding. Adding a new one to the successful energy efficiency steps it has taken so far, Aytaç Gıda will be able to generate more power than it consumes with this Solar Power Plant investment, getting closer to its goal of ‘net zero carbon.’”
Proceeding at full pace on its decarbonization journey toward its goal of achieving “net zero” carbon emissions across its value chain by 2050, Yıldız Holding is implementing yet another energy efficiency project as part of its green transformation efforts. Founded in Çerkeş, Çankırı as Europe’s largest integrated meat plant 30 years ago and has been serving a wide audience with its rich product portfolio since it was incorporated by Yıldız Holding in 2013, Aytaç Gıda will meet its energy needs and generate surplus power with this new Solar Power Plant investment. Implementing extensive efforts to ensure effective and efficient use of energy resources as part of Yıldız Holding’s sustainability efforts driven by the “This Is Our World” approach, Aytaç Gıda agreed to an approximately 6 MWp off-grid Solar Power Plant project to be installed in its factory in Çerkeş, Çankırı in collaboration with the Chint Group affiliate Astronergy. Yıldız Holding Deputy Chair and CEO Mehmet Tütüncü, Aytaç Gıda Executive Director and General Manager Erhan Çetin, Chint Group Chair Cunhui Nan, International Investment Director Sean, Xu, and Chint-Astronergy Türkiye Board Member Ercüment Kaya attended the signing ceremony at Yıldız Holding’s Çamlıca Campus.

We have accelerated our green transformation journey through energy efficiency projects driven by the “This Is Our World” approach. Aiming to achieve a collective transformation within our ecosystem, we support our commitments with our actions at Yıldız Holding. Today, we agreed to build a Solar Power Plant of 6 MWp capacity in Aytaç Gıda’s factory in Çankırı to meet 100 percent of the factory’s power requirement from renewable sources. As Yıldız Holding, we will continue making renewable energy investments in all our other companies.”
Aytaç Gıda Executive Director and General Manager Erhan Çetin: “We are moving toward our goal of leaving a better world to future generations.”
