Exceeding 39 thousand people in direct employment, ŞOK Marketler offers employment opportunities to an ecosystem that reaches hundreds of thousands of people including farmers and small and medium sized suppliers. With the 3 thousand 617 people employed within the first nine months of 2021, ŞOK Marketler has employed a total of 27 thousand people in the last five years. ŞOK Marketler has made a contribution of TRY 2.5 billion to the national economy through the stores it opened and investments it made within the same period.

ŞOK Marketler has disclosed its financial results for the first 9 months of 2021 to Public Disclosure Platform (KAP). The results demonstrate that having employed 3 thousand 617 more people within the first nine months of this year, ŞOK Marketler continues to offer its services in 81 provinces across Turkey with over 39 thousand employees. With a total of 8 thousand 998 stores, ŞOK Marketler has employed over 27 thousand people within the last 5 years.

ŞOK Marketler’s revenue has reached TRY 20.4 billion by a year-on-year increase of 33 percent, with its contribution to the national economy through its new stores and investments within the last five years amounting to TRY 2.5 billion. Offering high-quality products produced by thousands of farmers, as well as small and medium sized enterprises across Turkey, at affordable prices to its customers, ŞOK Marketler has also supported the struggle against high inflation rates while economically contributing to its customers.

Commenting on the financial results disclosed by the company to KAP, ŞOK Marketler CEO Uğur Demirel said: “ŞOK’s business model built on the goal of delivering reliable products of high quality to its customers from the nearest location at affordable prices receives great interest from our customers. By always maintaining an internal inflation rate that is a few points below CPI at ŞOK Marketler, we are also significantly contributing to the fight against inflation. We continue to support local producers and farmers through projects such as ‘Good Agriculture from the Field to the Table’ to offer the most affordable prices to our customers. Regarding the online shopping application ‘Cepte ŞOK’ which went live in March 2020 across Turkey, Uğur Demirel commented: “While store shelves remained empty in many countries during the pandemic, we have given a good account of ourselves both as an industry and at ŞOK Marketler. The demand for ‘Cepte ŞOK’ which we very rapidly implemented during this period is increasing day by day.
