ŞOK Marketler maintained its sustainable growth by exhibiting a consistent performance throughout 2023. Having contributed significantly to employment by increasing the number of its employees to 47 thousand, the company achieved a revenue of TRY 133 billion in 2023.

Having reported its financial results for 2023 to the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP), ŞOK Marketler increased its revenue to TRY 133 billion and the number of its stores across the 81 provinces to 10 thousand 725, with 674 new stores opened in 2023. The number of employees of the company, which prioritized the victims of the major earthquake in Türkiye in recruitment processes, has approached 47 thousand. Having exhibited a consistently successful performance in 2023 despite the earthquake disaster and global economic crisis, ŞOK Marketler continues contributing to national employment by maintaining its powerful position in the industry through the high-quality products, affordable prices, and sale campaigns it offers to its customers.

Quick solutions to support the disaster area

After the major earthquake disaster in February, ŞOK Marketler stood out through its efforts to help with the disaster area’s economic recovery. Having delivered trucks of supplies from its stores and warehouses to the victims immediately after de disaster, ŞOK Marketler contributed to efforts toward restoring daily life in the region by rapidly opening container and prefabricated stores to replace its damaged stores. ŞOK Marketler gave priority to local producers particularly in its green grocery purchases and prioritized earthquake victims in recruitment processes throughout the year.

A leader in women’s employment and economic support to women

As one of the companies that offer the highest employment rates in Türkiye, ŞOK Marketler stood among the leading companies that have the highest rates of female employees, with a female employee rate of 54 percent. Having expanded the scope of the “Count Me In” (“Şok’ta Ben de Varım”) project for a stronger future, the company puts handicrafts produced by women across Türkiye, particularly from the disaster area, up for sale at ŞOK Marketler stores, contributing to enhancing women’s participation in the economy and establishing equal opportunities.

Significant digitalization investment with Win Loyalty Program

Driven by its vision of developing solutions centering around customer satisfaction, ŞOK Marketler launched its loyalty program, Win, in the summer of 2023 to offer additional benefits to its customers.  The Win program to which customers can subscribe via the e-commerce application Cepte ŞOK received great interest in a short time and enabled ŞOK Marketler to carry its digitalization investments another step further.

Fixed-price campaigns and big sales to support household budgets

As both the costs for producers and retailers alike and the prices reached high levels due to global fluctuations in 2023, ŞOK Marketler raised the bar in its year-long low-price policy by fixing the prices of 1000 products in January to contribute to the national economy and the budgets of its customers, assuming a pioneering role in the industry. Having implemented yet another big sale campaign as part of “Republic’s 100th Anniversary Celebrations,” ŞOK Marketler also offered a 50-percent discount on 1000 products throughout October and enabled its customers to enjoy the benefit of reward points via its loyalty program Win.

Driven by our ‘From Unity to Bounty’ approach, we keep standing by our country, producers, and customers. All year, we focused on the disaster area and supported the region’s recovery. As a brand with a solid focus on equal opportunities for women, we implemented a project, “Count Me In,” which we wholeheartedly believe will have a lasting impact. We also launched our ongoing “Affordable Prices Everyday” campaign, which covers convenience goods, to spread the abundance of Ramadan, the holy month of solidarity and sharing, to our customers.

As ŞOK Marketler, we were there for our producers, retailers, and consumers again in 2023 as always. As we also deeply value our shareholders, our Board suggested a gross dividend distribution to our investors of TRY 1.5 billion out of our profit in 2023.

We will keep standing by our producers, retailers, and consumers in 2024 as well with new goals to achieve.”
