17.02.2022

Providing uninterrupted service to its customers via its online shopping application Cepte ŞOK, ŞOK Marketler is establishing a fleet of 1,000 electric delivery vehicles to meet the increasing demand.

ŞOK Marketler has disclosed its financial results for the year 2021 to the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP). Having reached 9,247 stores and 31 warehouses located across 81 provinces as of the end of December thanks to its business model based on delivering reliable and high-quality products to its customers from the nearest store and at affordable prices, ŞOK Marketler continues its investments in 2022 without slowing down.

Having served its customers uninterruptedly even during the pandemic via its online shopping application Cepte ŞOK, which was launched in March 2020, ŞOK Marketler is now establishing a fleet of electric delivery vehicles to meet the increasing demand.

“We will offer employment to 1,300 people as part of our Cepte ŞOK Motor project”

Şok Marketler CEO Uğur Demirel stated that the R&D process of the vehicles took approximately one year and, designed by ŞOK Marketler itself, the Cepte ŞOK Motor vehicles are currently in use, adding “Especially during the pandemic, our customers showed great interest in Cepte ŞOK, in which we have invested approximately TRY 60 million in the past two years. This interest increasingly continues ever since. Naturally, we continue making investments to respond to this demand. Within this context, we are establishing an extensive fleet of electric delivery vehicles to strengthen the order distribution network of our stores. With our electric delivery vehicle fleet project, which will be a first in Turkey, we plan not only to reduce carbon emissions but also to maximize customer satisfaction in purchasing/distribution operations. With 1,000 vehicles already in our fleet, we aim to be one of the retail companies with the largest electric delivery vehicle park in Europe. Our Cepte ŞOK Motor vehicles will be serving our customers across 81 provinces. We plan to employ approximately 1,300 people as part of this project.”

According to the 2021 financial results disclosed to the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP), the revenue of ŞOK Marketler reached TRY 28.4 billion by a year-on-year increase of 33 percent. Having delivered high-quality products produced by thousands of small- and medium-sized enterprises and farmers to its customers at the most affordable prices as part of the project “Good Agriculture from the Field to the Table”, ŞOK Marketler has thus contributed to the budgets of its customers and supported the struggle against inflation. Operating across 81 provinces with almost 40 thousand employees, ŞOK Marketler has increased the number of its stores to 9,247 including the 1,102 stores opened last year.
Commenting on the financial results of 2021, Uğur Demirel pointed out that their investments including new store openings in 2021 reached TRY 800 million and said: “Our contribution to the national economy through the investments we have made within the past five years has amounted to TRY 2.5 billion. Throughout 2021, while the impact of the global pandemic and the associated economic fluctuations continued albeit to a diminishing extent, we continued serving all our customers uninterruptedly across 81 provinces, opened new stores and increased our employment rate by optimizing our costs through our strong logistics and procurement system. With our customer-oriented and innovative business model, we managed to increase our revenue by 33 percent and achieved a net profit of TRY 319 million by an increase of 17 percent. As we maintain our growth in 2022, we will continue making contributions to the national economy and employment by providing uninterrupted service to our customers with our recently launched Cepte ŞOK Motor fleet.”
