
“Colors of the Globe: A Photography Exhibition in Memory of Adnan Büyükdeniz” Welcomes Visitors to Çamlıca

Having given impressive photography works on top of his successful career in banking and finance, Dr. Adnan Büyükdeniz is commemorated on the 14th anniversary of his passing with “Colors of the Globe: A Photography Exhibition in Memory of Adnan Büyükdeniz.” The exhibition will be open to visitors at Yıldız Holding Exhibition Hall until November 25, free of charge.
Enabling social benefit through its support of art as well, Yıldız Holding hosts a memorial exhibition in its exhibition hall located in its Headquarters in Çamlıca this time.
An exclusive exhibition featuring 51 photographs taken across 40 countries by Dr. Adnan Büyükdeniz, who gained the appreciation of all for his services of many years in banking and finance, to commemorate him as he was 51 years old at the time of his passing is introduced to art lovers.
Opening its doors on October 19, the 14th anniversary of Büyükdeniz’s passing, the exhibition conveys the emotional reflections of people from diverse regions and cultures. It invites visitors to witness the “colors of the globe” through the lens of Büyükdeniz, who defined the art of photography as a great passion for himself.
Curated by Art Consultant İbrahim Ethem Gören, visitors may see the exhibition every day until November 25 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. and free of charge by making reservations via (0216) 524 25 00.
Significant contributions to participation banking’s development in Türkiye
Born in Adana in 1958, Adnan Büyükdeniz finished high school in Texas, USA. After graduating from Boğaziçi University Department of Economics in 1980, he received a scholarship from TÜSİAD to study in the UK and got his Master of Science degree from the London School of Economics. Having returned to his country after his graduate studies, Büyükdeniz served as a consultant at TÜSİAD between 1985 and 1994, where he worked as an economy research specialist between 1983 and 1985. He was granted the title of “Doctor” by Istanbul University in 1990.
Adnan Büyükdeniz joined the team at Albaraka Türk Participation Bank while it was being established and assumed various executive responsibilities at the bank. He was appointed as the General Manager in 2003, a tenure that lasted until his passing.
Dr. Adnan Büyükdeniz not only made highly significant contributions to the establishment of the interest-free financial system in Türkiye but also served as a board member in various banking and investment funds organizations abroad.
Büyükdeniz taught Money Theory and Policy and International Economics classes at Marmara University between 1992 and 2000. His book, “Interest Policies in Türkiye” was granted the first prize in ‘Economics’ by Milliyet Newspaper in 1992.
Dr. Adnan Büyükdeniz pursued professional photography with an amateur spirit and published a book titled ‘Colors of the Globe’ featuring the photographs he took during his visits to various countries worldwide, accompanied by a photography exhibition bearing the same title. He was married with three children when he passed away on October 19, 2009, in Istanbul.
