Bizim Toptan Declares Leadership in Out-of-Home Consumption Industry by a Wide Margin

Having taken over g2m at the end of last year, Bizim Toptan achieved the top position by a wide margin in the Out-of-Home Consumption Industry, which has reached TRY 316 billion in size in Türkiye in 2023. The company highlighted this position with the motto “We Stand at the Top” at ANFAŞ 30th International Food and Beverage Exhibition.

Türkiye’s largest and most expansive wholesale store chain in terms of store number and accessibility, Bizim Toptan, took over the shares of g2m, a company with over 40 years of experience in the Out-of-Home (OoH) Consumption industry, from Yıldız Holding at the end of 2023. Through this move, Bizim Toptan further expanded the gap between its position and those of its competitors in the industry.  According to the TÜİK (Turkish Statistical Institute) data, the revenue of the OoH consumption industry reached TRY 316 billion in Türkiye in 2023, and around one-fifth of national employment is in the OoH consumption industry. Bizim Toptan has achieved the top position in this gigantic industry, which is of critical significance for Türkiye in terms of its contribution to the national economy and employment,  by a wide margin as a result of the g2m merger.  The two companies highlighted this position with the motto “We Stand at the Top” at the ANFAŞ 30th International Food and Beverage Exhibition and made their mark on the event.

Having attended the exhibition held in Antalya between February 6-9 with their large and showy booths, Bizim Toptan and g2m showcased their expanded joint product and service portfolio to domestic and international visitors. Bizim Toptan CEO Hüseyin Balcı and g2m General Manager Furkan Akiner came together with visitors at the exhibition and shared information about the operations of the companies.

About the Out-of-Home Consumption Industry: The TÜİK (Turkish Statistical Institute) data indicate that the total revenue of the OoH Consumption industry was TRY 316 billion in 2023, and the OoH Consumption industry corresponds to 21.2 percent of national employment in our country, with the market share of the businesses in the industry in the revenue being 25.3 percent. Per the registered hotel/restaurant/cafe/catering and bakery business in Google Maps, there are 615 thousand active OoH consumption points across Türkiye.

The g2m merger:

After the taking over of g2m’s shares by Bizim Toptan, the two companies will keep operating with increased strength by joining forces. The legal entity of g2m will be maintained as it is. With the two companies’ self-labeled product portfolios, customer access, storage, procurement, and logistics abilities, and g2m’s distributorship network, Bizim Toptan has reached the leading position in the OoH Consumption industry by a wide margin.
