With a focus on diversity, inclusion, and equity, Yıldız Holding earned global recognition from the United Nations at a special session that covered barriers against women entrepreneurship, especially on access to financing, and possible solutions on the 100th anniversary of Turkish Republic.

Yıldız Holding’s long-term practices with stakeholders, ambitious commitments, and concrete actions were shared with the audience at the UN Headquarters in New York as an impressive success. Thus, the Holding’s cooperation with UN Women to support female entrepreneurs has received appreciation on a global scale.

Stating that the Holding implements projects to reveal the potential within the ecosystem of women entrepreneurs, Yıldız Holding Women Platform’s Ambassador Begüm Mutuş said: “We are proud to see that our projects to empower women have been appreciated by the United Nations. We will continue to work ceaselessly to create a fairer, more inclusive, and more equitable world.”

The panel “Empowering Women Entrepreneurs on a Global Scale” was held on 21 September in New York, within the scope of the United Nations General Assembly week. Organized by UN Women, to which Yıldız Holding is also a strategic partner, this special session brought together many opinion leaders and institutions working on equal opportunities on a global level.

The panel’s welcoming remarks were made by UN Women Deputy Executive Director Sarah Hendriks and Yıldız Holding Public Affairs General Manager and Women Platform’s Ambassador Begüm Mutuş.

Ms. Mutuş: “We will continue to support women entrepreneurs within our global value chain”

Yıldız Holding Women Platform’s Ambassador Begüm Mutuş stated that the Holding generates exemplary projects globally to support women entrepreneurs by focusing on equal opportunities. Ms. Mutuş said: “At Yıldız Holding, we have a principle that guides us since day one of our establishment: ‘Make Happy, Be Happy’. We believe that no society can ever be happy without equal opportunities. Founded in 2021, the Women’s Platform carried its practices to the global scale through cooperation with UN Women. Within the scope of the Women Entrepreneurship Acceleration Program (WEA) that we became a part of last year, we made a commitment to support women entrepreneurs within our regional and global value chain and to invest more than 4 million USD in women entrepreneurs within 3 years. By the end of the first year of the Program, we exceeded this 3-year target and generated a value of over 5 million USD. Our goal is to increase the number of women suppliers by 100% next year. Thanks to our partnership with UN Women, we will continue to advocate equal opportunities and women entrepreneurship on all national and international platforms.”
