Yıldız Holding Deputy Chair and CEO Mehmet Tütüncü and Yıldız Holding Board Member & Transformation and Technology Leader Yahya Ülker attended the Uludağ Economy Summit held by the periodicals Capital and Economist with the main theme of “Responsible and Responsive Leadership” as spokespeople.
Having spoken at the panel “The Future Vision of Leaders: Innovative Approaches, Investments, and Goals for Tomorrow’s Organizations” held on the second day of the Economy Summit, Mehmet Tütüncü shared the sustainable success strategy behind Yıldız Holding’s 80-year-long history. Remarking that managing uncertainty is one of the most critical abilities of our times for companies as change is constant and absolute, Tütüncü added: “We usually regard uncertainty as a negative thing. However, it offers opportunities along with risks. What matters here is to transform our perspective and our system of thought to be able to see the opportunities rather than just focusing on the risks. I believe we should act with an attitude of ‘cautious optimism’ when managing this time. On the one hand, we need a dynamic strategy under rapidly changing conditions. In other words, we need to devise fluid strategies. Driven by the awareness of our transforming role in the ecosystem as a Holding operating in the two key industries of food and retail, we aim for sustainable success with a corporate culture enabling all our stakeholders to act in an atmosphere of mutual trust and contributing to creative thought, innovation, and efficiency. As an organization that manages change rather than being affected by it, we aim to lead the business world. The future is not a destination but a process. Therefore, we must embrace change if we wish to build the future, which we need to do in collaboration with our stakeholders, driven by the awareness of our responsibility within the ecosystem. Like we have been doing for the last 80 years, we will continue creating value for all our stakeholders collaboratively, enhancing our social contribution in line with our philosophy of ‘Make Happy, Be Happy, and expanding our positive impact through new investments worldwide.”
Having spoken at the panel “Entrepreneurship: New Businesses, Trends, and Technologies” the same day, Yıldız Holding Transformation and Technology Leader Yahya Ülker highlighted Yıldız Holding’s impact on transforming the future of the food and retail industries and said: "As we build the future of our main business areas, that is, the food and retail industries, we put our responsibility to create value across the ecosystem first.
